Abstract
Tape measures are primarily used in low‑precision measurement applications such as land surveying, construction, geodesy, agriculture and forestry, water conservancy, mining, underground operations, and sports. They are lightweight, easy to use, durable, and cost‑effective. This paper presents the application of the Xiongshi XB4 tape measure in physical education classes.
-
Draw a shot put circle
Fix a point, wrap the wooden stick around one end of the measuring tape, and pull the tape taut to trace a complete circle—this will mark the throwing circle.
-
Drawing the arc of a shot put’s flight distance and angle
One person holds a fixed point, while the other draws an arc at the desired radius; repeat as needed.
-
At the starting point of the painting competition
Extend the lion‑shaped cloth measuring tape and stretch it both horizontally and vertically. Use chalk to mark the desired number of lanes, then draw the field‑event registration area along the tape’s length.
-
Measure height
Pull out a 2-meter tape measure and stick it to the wall, then measure each student’s height one by one.
