Abstract

A distance-measuring wheel is a tool well-suited for long-distance measurements, ideal for on-site surveys of roads, courtyards, sports fields, and garden pathways. It comes in both mechanical and electronic versions. This article introduces the operating procedures for the Xiongshi XSCL05 mechanical distance-measuring wheel.

Xiongshi XSCL05 Mechanical Distance Measuring Wheel

I. Method for Measuring the Distance Between Walls

(i.e., the distance between point 1 and point 4)

Press the rear of the wheel body firmly against the starting wall, then push the distance-measuring wheel in a straight line.

Bring the front wheel into contact with and firmly against the target wall, then record the reading at that moment.

Add the wheel body diameter value to obtain the distance between the two walls.

II. Method for Measuring the Distance Between Walls and Points

(i.e., the distance between point 1 and point 3)

Press the rear of the wheel body firmly against the starting wall, then push the distance-measuring wheel in a straight line.

After reaching the target point, ensure that the plumb line points vertically toward the target.

Simply read the current value and add the wheel radius.

III. Method for Measuring the Spacing Between Points

(i.e., the distance between point 2 and point 3)

Point the plumb bob vertically at the starting point, and push the ranging wheel in a straight line,

Upon reaching the target point, ensure that the plumb bob points vertically toward the target.

Simply read the value displayed at this moment.

Precautions

① When measuring road surfaces, a smooth, level ground can enhance measurement accuracy; conversely, an uneven surface may compromise the precision of the measured values.
② Measurement operations and product storage are prohibited in high-temperature environments.
③ Do not perform measurement operations in the rain for extended periods.
④ Before taking a measurement, press the zero‑reset button to reset the reading to zero.
⑤ Do not allow minors to use this product to prevent injury.
